Hi, I’m Carrie, travel copywriter, content creator, and the voice behind Carried Away Travels.

I help travel and tourism brands turn curiosity into bookings through strategic storytelling, SEO-driven copy, and authentic user-generated content.

With a background in professional writing and a copywriting certification from AWAI, I built my business from a personal passion for travel and a desire to help great travel brands connect with their ideal customers.

Since launching Carried Away Travels (formerly Cochran Writing & Editing), I’ve worked with a range of travel clients from tourism boards and travel advisors to resorts and experience-based brands creating content that connects, builds trust, and drives real results.

My work blends two key elements: strategy and story.
That means content that doesn’t just sound good but is designed to perform.

Beyond client work, I’m also a travel creator.

Through my blog, Carried Away Travels, I share my own experiences exploring destinations across the U.S. and beyond from hidden gems and nature-filled adventures to unique stays and detailed itineraries.

This hands-on experience influences everything I create. I don’t just write about travel I actively live it to see what inspires people to explore, trust brands, and turn inspiration into action.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Professional Writing from Pensacola Christian College, where I also gained editorial experience with publications such as Study Breaks Magazine and the Fountains Literary Journal.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me planning my next trip, discovering hidden gems near my hometown, or trying to rid my home of corgi fur from my loyal traveling companion, Atlas.
